Abstract

This case aims to determine to which extent a b-learning instructional design can offer support to autonomy as an organic psychological need. The research is conducted in the context of the subject “Initial English”, a course for first semester students at a private university in Bogotá, Colombia. The study concludes with a series of reflections on the need of offering a comprehensive support to the psychological needs of autonomy, competence and relatedness, given that this way a higher level of involvement in the education context can be reached, which also derives in the particular support of autonomy.
