Abstract

The present investigation represents an experience developed over two academic periods, at the Upel-Maracay to introduce Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Higher Education. The e-forum tool got students to interact dynamically in long distance sessions, in which the instructor and some students played the role of moderators to delegate responsibilities. This experience was later integrated to face-to face classes where students express to be willing of having more strategies of this type to be able to join to the educational technological world. Results showed: In the first session, 60% of students were active and 40% remained passive; and in the second period, 75% of students were active and 25% remained passive. When students showed a passive attitude, they demonstrated rejection for the change and for the use of online technologies.
