This paper presents a methodology that has shown effectiveness for redesigning higher education courses, particularly when the intention is to help students to understand fundamental concepts, apply them in solving real problems, by means of focusing on inquiry, and use technology to support learning. The document is framed within university context where professors, for various reasons, need to rethink how to help their students to learn. Technology integration is part of such a process. The purpose of the study is to offer advantages and disadvantages of the strategy it was followed, its use and theoretical framework. Results about how to move from the redesign to its complete implementation are shown, including reflections on syllabus creation, redesign implementation by using virtual or blended learning environments, and training of facilitators.
