Abstract

In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee proposed the creation of the World Wide Web (WWW). He imagined a large information space through which people could communicate each other to share knowledge. In recent years, there has been a remarkable growth in the emergence of tools that allow users, not only to read texts in the WWW, but also to write on it. Wikis are offered as collaborative tools that facilitate the creation and management of large knowledge repositories and, at the same time, they surpass by their comprehensive offer. We believe that in the educational field, Wikis can be a feasible alternative to contextualize contents. Web 2.0 is a platform for students and teachers to share knowledge, to make connections and to learn collaboratively together with facilitators and experts. We should ask ourselves what are the changes we need to do in our educational system, once we are conscious our students practice new and different skills?
