Abstract

This research was aimed to develop electronic materials for students of English as a foreign language, particularly for those learners who are enrolled in the subject “English II” at the School of Modern Languages, University of the Venezuelan Andes. The development of electronic materials will be oriented towards the compilation and organization of: a) Webbased materials for teaching / learning students of English as a foreign language, b) cultural materials in the target language based on the Web, and c) materials developed by the teacher to promote communication and interaction among students. Materials will be developed from a pedagogical perspective. In this sense, this research took into account mainly Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) approaches originally proposed by Warschauer& Healy (1998) and later extended by Kern &Warschauer (2000); the pedagogical assumptions suggested by Tomlinson (2003) for the development of materials and their assessment.
